"The Toon’s foremost purveyors of hellish side-to-side invocations are back with a 5-track promo cassette to punt on their European tour this summer. It’s fuckin’ DIALL, baby. With hardly a baited breath between them, the fellas rip through a humble offering of two new tunes, two oldies and a tidy Buzzcocks cover, that’ll have you headbanging like Wayne Campbell and his cronies in the back of the car, only now the car is on fire and hurtling towards a cliff…IN HELL!

Think of a more demented GAG with nods to the taut mid-tempo moments of GLUE and Q that became synonymous with the sound of the mid-2010s. The word schizophrenic gets thrown around a lot these days, (for better or worse, who knows!?) but in keeping with drawing from that allusion, DIALL aren’t content to settle into one riff for too long before they take a sharp turn towards the next section in a song, sometimes ushered in by a swift DUNKA-THUNKA-DUNK on the toms or, better yet, not ushered in at all.

DIALL makes the music I hear in my head when I’m feeling freaked out over something. It’s the righteous catharsis to a moment of terrifying mania. If these new tunes are anything to go by, I can only assume their worldview is even bleaker than it was 2 years ago when their 7” dropped.
